Make a Raku Fired Ceramic Cat or Dog Pencil Holder
Mae Gray has been selling pottery on Lookout Mountain for too many years to mention---and almost everyone on the mountain has a piece of her work on the table. She has a booth in Kamama Gallery, has hosted the Rock Bluff Art Show in Rising Fawn for ten years, and did a workshop for MAAC last season. Back by popular demand.
The workshoppers will construct a ceramic pencil holder (tall cup shape) in class and Mae will fire it in a Raku kiln the following week.

Bill Shugart, executive director of One World Adventure Company, will treat families to a day of inquiry, discovery, and fun. Enjoy simple hands-on experiments designed to communicate important safety information, renewable energy, weather stations, and water conservation.

One World Adventure Company is a community based organization that provides Outdoor Education programs throughout the summer.

The Sacred Geometry of Nature
Chuck Peters has been an artist/sculptor/designer/film/builder throughout his career. His background includes: Illustrator for the National Science Foundation, Creative Director for major corporations, International Sales, organic farmer. He is certified in Permaculture Design and Monolithic Building Construction. He also has recently been awarded Chattanooga Siskin “Renaissance Artist of the Year” in 2010.
Throughout history, the discovery and application of geometric design from the natural world has been incorporated in architecture, art and music. Chuck will show you how to apply this easy to learn concept in all of your art, design, building and creative endeavors.
Materials to bring: Colored pens or pencils, straight edge, drawing compass, drawing paper.

Join the Waterkeeper Alliance's Riverkeeper for an hour at the water's edge where Bill Shugart will demonstrate monitoring the health of the Little River and its tributaries. He investigates pollution issues in the river, educates the public about river health and finds solutions to keep our river pristine. The Waterkeeper Alliance is sponsored by One World Adventure Co. Refreshments will be served.
