Sandra Padgett

Sandra has a history with Mentone that spans three decades.  From 1980 -1991 she and husband Ray owned the Mentone Springs Hotel. Their decade of work saved the building and obtained the National Register of Historic Places designation for the historic building.  After an absence of twenty years, Sandra retired to the mountain in 2010.

Her thirty-year career in real estate was devoted primarily to selling historic properties in Atlanta with her last decade in Florida being devoted to land and development projects. Sandra lacks art skills and has no practical art talent; but she has an appreciation for art of all forms.  As a child when other girls bought dolls or games, she preferred to buy a print, pottery or embroidery item with her Christmas money.

Her love of music and live performances was developed during her school days in Chattanooga, Tennessee during the fifties when the city provided free concerts to students.  Sandra is honored to serve on the board. MAAC’s mission of promoting both visual and performing arts matches her goal of enriching the cultural life of the community.
